Superyacht Teak Decking

Large teak projects are as much about coordination as carpentry. Teak Techs manages complex, multi-area superyacht teak decking work — planning with captains and managers, working within shipyard schedules, protecting surrounding surfaces, and fabricating under controlled conditions so quality doesn't depend on the weather.

Coordinating Complex Teak Projects

On a large vessel, the teak scope touches everyone: the captain's schedule, the manager's budget, the yard's lay berths, and the painters' and detailers' timelines. We work directly with each of them — one point of contact, clear scopes, and schedules agreed in advance.

Our yacht teak decking capability covers every stage in-house: templating, fabrication, installation, caulking, and sanding — which reduces the number of contractors you have to coordinate.

Scheduling and Phased Work

Superyacht decks rarely come available all at once. We plan phased work — by deck area, by section, or aligned to a yard period — so the vessel stays usable and the finished areas are protected while work continues elsewhere.

Caulk and adhesive curing times, weather, and facility requirements are built into the schedule rather than discovered during it.

Surface Protection and Worksite Control

Deck work happens in the middle of a finished vessel. We protect surrounding surfaces, control dust — including dust-controlled sanding — and keep worksites contained so the vessel around the project stays clean.

Where weather or facility rules require it, work areas are tented and the surrounding structure protected before material comes off.

Estimating and Quality Control

Multi-area projects are estimated in detail, by area, from the vessel's actual templating and photographs — so you can see what each part of the scope costs and phase accordingly.

Quality is checked at defined points: template accuracy, dry-fit, seam preparation, and final finish — with progress updates to the captain or manager throughout.

Superyacht Teak Decking — Frequently Asked Questions

Can you work around our vessel's schedule?

Yes. Work is planned around the vessel's calendar and can be phased by area or aligned to a yard period, with curing time and weather allowances built into the schedule.

Do you coordinate directly with the shipyard and other trades?

Yes. We coordinate with the marina or shipyard on access and facility requirements and with painters, detailers, and other contractors where scopes meet.

How do you protect the vessel during deck work?

Work areas are protected and tented as required, dust is controlled with extraction equipment, and surrounding surfaces are protected before any material comes off.

How is a multi-area teak project estimated?

By area, in detail, from templating and photographs taken on your vessel — so each part of the scope is priced separately and can be phased.
