Yacht Teak Deck Repair
Failed seams, split planks, damaged margins, and loose sections don't always mean a full refit. When the surrounding deck is sound, Teak Techs repairs teak decks section by section — replacing individual planks, rebuilding margins, and recaulking isolated seams for vessels across Fort Lauderdale and South Florida.

What Yacht Teak Deck Repair Covers
Teak deck repair targets specific failures while leaving sound deck in place: individual planks that have split or splintered, margins and king planks that have worn or cracked, seams that have failed in isolation, and planks that have lifted or lost adhesion.
Repairs also cover the details that show — teak around hatches, cleats, and deck hardware, and high-traffic areas like swim platforms where damage is most visible. For a worked example, see our M/Y Kisses teak deck repair case study.
Repair or Replace? How We Assess Your Deck
Before recommending a repair, we check the three things that determine whether one is possible: remaining teak thickness, substrate condition, and how widespread the failure is. A deck with good thickness, a dry substrate, and isolated damage is a repair candidate.
When teak is thin, movement is widespread, or the substrate is compromised, complete replacement is the more honest recommendation — and we will tell you when it is.
Repairs That Blend With the Deck
A repair should not read as a patch. Replacement planks are milled to match the surrounding deck in width, thickness, and grain orientation, margins are shaped to the original geometry, and new caulk lines are matched to the existing seams.
One honest note: freshly milled teak is lighter than weathered deck around it and tones in over time. We finish each repair so the transition is as clean as the material allows.

Can you replace a single teak plank, or does a whole section need to come out?
Individual planks can be replaced when the surrounding deck is still serviceable. New planks are milled to match the width, thickness, and grain of the existing deck and fitted in place.
How do I know if repair is enough for my deck?
It comes down to teak thickness, substrate condition, and how widespread the failure is. An inspection answers this directly — we measure the deck and give you an honest repair-versus-replace recommendation.
Can repairs be completed at my marina or on my dock?
Yes. We provide mobile repair service at authorized marinas, shipyards, and private docks throughout South Florida, subject to facility requirements and schedule availability.
Will the repaired area be visible?
We match material, grain orientation, and seam spacing so the repair blends with the surrounding deck. Fresh teak is lighter than aged teak at first and tones in with exposure over time.
